At the Monroe College School of Business and Accounting, we’re investing in tomorrow’s leaders by providing students with a curriculum that will drive personal and professional growth, empowering them for careers in accounting and business management.

    The School of Business and Accounting offers the following degree programs: 

    Students taking classes within the department of accounting and finance are taught by a faculty of experienced certified accounting and taxation professionals. Our instructors provide insight into the principles of accounting, taxation, cost accounting, advanced accounting applications and accounting technology.

    Students enrolled in courses offered by the department of business administration also learn from experienced senior business executives. Instructors draw upon their own career highlights to facilitate learning in marketing, project management, e-commerce and human resources. 

    In addition to academics, students can gain valuable real-world experience by joining the award-winning Monroe College NABA and ALPFA team, working at the Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence or interning for a corporation. Monroe College is a proud member of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society, a group that promotes, recognizes and rewards scholastic achievement in business education.

    ACBSP Accreditation

    Many of Monroe's School of Business & Accounting undergraduate programs offered at the Bronx and New Rochelle campuses, as well as online, are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).  Monroe’s MBA program also shares this accreditation. To receive this prestigious accreditation, schools must first apply for ACBSP membership and have regional accreditation. Schools are also required to complete a self-study, demonstrating their commitment to improvement, innovation and scholarship.     Our AAS and BBA in Accounting, AAS in Business Administration, Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), BBA in Business Management, are ACBSP accredited. Our MS in Accounting, AAS and BBA in Sports Management, AAS and BBA in Business Administration on the St. Lucia campus and AAS and BBA Accounting on the St. Lucia campus are not ACBSP accredited.

    The School of Business and Accounting with its focus on experiential learning, global business and entrepreneurship is very-well suited to prepare our students to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s business environment. Our unique approach to business education focuses on ensuring students’ success through the use of technology solutions and delivery modalities in addition to exciting opportunities to gain hands-on, real-life experience solving business problems and gaining valuable experience.

    Students are provided with a solid foundation in business management, accounting, marketing, finance, and economics to ensure their preparedness for an exciting career. Through our open door policy, we encourage our students to meet with school administrators, faculty and staff to address their specific needs and to discuss their future goals.
