  • The School of Criminal Justice

    The School of Criminal Justice was founded in 2003 in response to the September 11th attacks. Monroe College recognized the need for highly trained criminal justice professionals at the local, state and federal levels. We structured our curriculum to empower future law enforcement officers, social workers and emergency responders to solve real-life on the job problems. Students learn the major trends, issues and realities of today’s Criminal Justice system, while building a solid foundation for a career in criminal justice.

    The School of Criminal Justice offers the following degree programs: 

    Criminal justice jobs are in high demand. Police departments, law firms, social services agencies and the courts are actively seeking the best and brightest graduates to keep communities safe and make a difference.     Our distinguished faculty is comprised of professionals from every facet of criminal justice and human services.  They share their deep knowledge base within a practical framework.  Your learning in the classroom will also be supplemented with state-of-the-art tools and technology.

    Our commitment to your learning, development and growth starts on your very first day.  You will be supported and challenged academically.  In addition, our student-based programs and partnerships will help you to put your education into action.  Whether you choose to apply for the Police Academy ScholarS Program (PASS Program) or whether you choose to become involved in our many criminal justice- and human services-related clubs, you will enhance your leadership skills.

    There are many 21st century criminal justice challenges.  Your time at Monroe College will provide you with the necessary critical thinking and problem solving skills to present meaningful solutions to these challenges in your respective careers.
